In the old days, this was the Hong Kong tour — the one every visitor did, and the one many remember decades later. It still works beautifully: a day on the Island's south side, where the city thins into fishing harbours, bays and breezes. Return visitors find their memories; first-timers find the Hong Kong of the photographs.

- 09:30 · Victoria Peak — the classic panorama, then the quiet Lugard Road loop most tours skip
- 11:00 · Down to Aberdeen: the old fishing port, the typhoon shelter, and a sampan ride among the boat-dwellers' world
- 12:30 · Lunch — seafood by the harbour or a simple local canteen, your style
- 13:45 · Repulse Bay: the colonial verandah, the beach curve and the gods at the lifeguard temple
- 15:00 · Stanley: the market, Murray House (moved stone by stone from Central), Blake Pier and the old police station
- 16:15 · Coffee or a seaside drink on Stanley's promenade
- 17:00 · Return over Wong Nai Chung Gap — the view that explains the island
